I'm Tired of Being Poltically Correct, It's Bullshit

I have become quite disturbed by the actions of the PC Thought Police and I am tired of this nation worrying about whether or not we are offending some group, individual, or their culture. Evidently, we offend everybody no matter what we do or say. Therefore, I vow to stick to my guns and let Ms. Manners worry about who gets offended. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. This country was born from immigrants who came here looking for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. However, there are some things that immigrants, and apparently some Americans, need to understand.

First off, it is not our responsibility to go out of our way to try not to offend anyone. No matter what we do, somebody somewhere will be offended. Our national identity is a melting pot of ideas and cultures, but we all are held together by a unifying theme. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, some call the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, losses and victories by millions of men and women who sought freedom from various oppressions. Our ancestors fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam, and more recently Iraq, so that we could live without those oppressions.

Secondly, we speak English, or some form of it, but we do not speak Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society - learn our language! You are welcome to speak your native tongue at home and with fellow friends, but like the millions did before you, learn how to speak English to interact within our society and economy. By the way, no matter how bad you want it to be, Ebonics is not a language.

Furthermore, "In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan, although some would like you to believe that. It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our nation’s Capitol and is also printed on every piece of currency you may earn and spend. We adopted this motto because men and women of faith, on religious principles, founded this nation; and this has been clearly documented throughout American history. Our Freedom of religion means you can pray to any god you want, whether it’s Allah, Jesus, L. Ron Hubbard, Krishna, or even Mother Nature herself. You even have the freedom to not believe in any God at all, and renounce all religious beliefs.

The bottom line is we are proud of our heritage and every single man and woman who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day in remembrance of these individuals and freedoms. We have parades, picnics, and barbecues where we proudly wave our flag and shoot fireworks in the air. As Americans, we can wave our flag, sing our national anthem, quote our national motto, and cite our Pledge of Allegiance whenever and wherever we choose. If the Stars and Stripes offend you that is not my problem; it is yours. This American culture is our way of life, our family’s heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with this way of life and could care less how you did things where you came from. Regardless this country is forever changing as more things are added to the melting pot. This becomes what we call The American Way. We are Americans, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle. If we offend you, too bad, deal with it. We are the rich, the poor, the middle class, and the scumbags of the earth all together for the betterment of our neighbors and fellow citizens. This is where our strength comes from and we will not be oppressed anymore. We took all the trails and tribulations we could handle and now the future is ours. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his/her opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. Nevertheless, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom, the right to leave.
