LESSON OF THE DAY: Fuck Eric Clapton!!!!

When Think of Eric Clapton as being over rated I certainly am not saying that he is bad, I actually like him, but he is overhyped. Before I started listening to anything he did he had been hyped to me as this unbelievable great blues\rock guirarist. So when I first picked up his "From the Cradle" CD i was expecting some great blues-rock similar to Stevie Ray or even Buddy Guy. however I was dissapointed, finding very few songs that resembled anything from the likes of Robert Johnson or Muddy Waters. Eric Clapton is not bad, he is just over rated and over hyped as a blues\rock artist.

Let's be honest. Clapton is certainly Not God. Or at least he is not when it comes to wailing guitar solos. The man truly tries his best to shred his heart out, but you have to admit that he really is just a pop-artist. He has not done anything particularly new or innovative as a guitartist, though people always worship him and give him tons of undeserved credit. People will also try to convince you of his Delta Blues, grass roots tribute style, but can you name name any real rootsy obscure or famous blues master as result of listening to Eric Clapton. I didn't think so! He plays the guitar very well, but he definately is not the extraordinary artist he is cracked up to be. And I'm still mad at him for that piece of shit album "Riding with the King". Seriously Eric what the fuck was that??? That album was just terrible. I will always say, Clapton was at his best with Ginger and Jack. So Eric stop fucking with younger girls and stop trying to be a poor delta bluesman, and go back to what you do best. That is being another decent guitarist in an colectively awesome band.
